Brass, copper, leather and glass, which is the whole appeal: this is the collection where metallic pencils and gold gel pens finally earn their place in the tin.
Goggles, cogs, corsetry and flight caps on Lucy, Tessa and Lulu the cat girl, a steampunk fairy, and the aviator cat who also turns up on my stickers.
The grayscale does something specific here — metal only reads as metal when the highlights are hard and the shadows are deep, and that contrast is already drawn in. Flat coloring kills a steampunk page faster than any other subject.
