Scales are a trap and a gift. Colored flat they look like a fish; colored with the shading that is already in the grayscale, they turn iridescent — which is why most people who start here end up buying more than one.
The collection runs from open sea with dolphins and seahorses to a mermaid resting in a lake of lotuses. Hair underwater, light through water, and the awkward beautiful problem of where skin becomes scale.
Blues and greens read very differently over grey than over white paper. That is the whole reason these are drawn pre-shaded.
